Tri-Phase was retained by a construction company on behalf of a government corporation to complete demolition and removal of the youth centre in Brampton.

Our scope of work involved the asbestos abatement of three buildings as well as the demolition and removal of the buildings including the floor slab and foundation. The project was a LEED® Project. Accordingly, Tri-Phase utilized its mobile crushing equipment to crush all concrete waste and recycled it into Granular “B” material that was reused on-site for backfilling operations. The work also included the draining and disposal of oil from the transformer, removal and disposal of the transformer, removal and disposal of UST, and excavation and disposal of contaminated soil (500 tonnes).

The asbestos material inside the walls of one of the buildings was Actinolite and accordingly had to be removed under a Type III removal procedure with Supplied Air respiratory protection. There were no utilities on-site so Tri-Phase had to supply mobile power, water, etc. for the operation.

Tri-Phase completed the project on time and within budget.
