Complete Site Clean-Up of a Former Trucking Yard

Tri-Phase was retained to provide complete site remediation of a former trucking yard totaling 29 acres. Tri-Phase provided the client with a trained service team as well as the necessary equipment and tools to complete the task at hand.  Working under the direction of the owner’s consultant, Tri-Phase completed a scope of work that included the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs), excavation and disposal of 20,000 tonnes of hydrocarbon and metals impacted soil as well as dewatering and treatment of 500,000 liters of contaminated groundwater.  The scope also included site clean up involving the removal and disposal of unknown buried waste (pails and drums filled with unknown hazardous material and debris). Taking into consideration all health and safety objectives, Tri-Phase also supplied and installed temporary hoarding to secure the work area and implemented dust control measures during the execution of the project.

Following removal and disposal of the contaminated material as well as testing and approval from the owner’s consultant, Tri-Phase backfilled and compacted the excavated areas with engineered backfill.  The project was completed successfully, on time and within budget.
