Tri-Phase was retained by a school board to perform asbestos abatement and demolition services for their high school located in Burlington, Ontario. The drama studio and cafeteria in the school were to undergo full demolition and abatement services.

 The drama studio and cafeteria were first sectioned off from the rest of the school by cutting the roof to isolate the work area. The mechanical services were relocated for the time the work was being done and the electrical services were disconnected, coated and capped. Asbestos abatement was performed within the work area as there was amosite asbestos containing fire proofing that was removed using Type III procedures. Type III chrysolite asbestos containing texture coat was also removed from the work area.

 The full structural demolition of the drama room and cafeteria was then completed. This included all building components, equipment, internal finishes, wall sections, slabs on grade and foundations. Tri-Phase providing shoring services throughout the demolition process. Once the demolition was completed, Tri-Phase backfilled the excavated area with Granular B and completed compaction testing. New doors, drywall partitions and railings were purchased and installed, and a dust collector machine was utilized for the duration of the work. Tri-Phase completed the job on-time, within budget and to the clients’ utmost satisfaction.
