Tri-Phase was retained by an industrial client to demolish their approximately 80,000 square foot building in the heart of Toronto, Ontario. The scope of work included providing asbestos abatement Types I-III of drywall joint compound, texture coat, vinyl floor tile, fireproofing, and roofing material. Tri-Phase also had to provide contaminated water removal and disposal from their sprinkler system that contained PFOS. Once the abatement work was complete, Tri-Phase utilized our high-reach excavator to begin systematically demolishing the entire structure including all footings and foundations. There was also contaminated soil that was found to be on site with elevated concentrations of various metals, PHC, BTEX, and PAH. Tri-Phase provided soil remediation of the affected areas in the hot zones of over 1500 tonnes of contaminated soil. Once the contaminated soil was removed, Tri-Phase backfilled the area with Granular B and graded it to match the existing area.
