Accessibility Washroom Renovations for a School Board

Service Type:

Demolition, Renovation

Client:Institutional
Location:Brampton, Ontario

Tri-Phase was retained to provide renovation services for a school’s washrooms. The scope of work was to transfer an existing large multi-stall washroom into two separate washrooms for accessibility use. The scope of work first began with the removal of all drywall ceilings, ceramic tiles, doors, frames, masonry walls, mounted lavatory, faucets and all other washroom accessories. Once the demolition work was completed, Tri-Phase began to supply and install new concrete block walls that would form the new outline of the washrooms. Chase walls were also installed to accommodate all plumbing and electrical requirements with a double row of framing studs. Once that was completed, Tri-Phase supplied and installed new fire-rated drywall ceilings and walls. Wall tiles that were 8” x 20” were then installed floor to ceiling. A 4” tile baseboard was then installed to match the wall tiles. There were accent walls in the washrooms that had 12” penny mosaic tiles installed. For the floors, Tri-Phase supplied and installed 12” x 24” porcelain tiles. New doors and frames were installed for the washrooms. In order to run the new plumbing lines for the washrooms, Tri-Phase had to concrete scan and cut for the plumbing lines. On the corridor side of the washrooms, Tri-Phase had to repair the terrazzo flooring and baseboard as well as repair all the drywall. All new washroom accessories were installed including but not limited to tissue dispensers, toilet dispensers, mirrors, grab bars, sinks, toilets, urinals, and more.
