Tri-Phase was retained to provide hazardous materials abatement and demolition services for multiple commercial and residential buildings located in Mississauga, Ontario for a property developer. There was a total of four buildings that were slated for demolition to make room for a new commercial development. The buildings ranged in size from single-storey to multiple-storey structures and consisted of poured concrete, block and brick wall structures. Tri-Phase coordinated all required permits and utility disconnects prior to the start of work and ensured the work area was properly segregated from the general public with appropriate signage and access/egress routes. Asbestos abatement following Type I-II procedures of caulking, roofing and cementitious material was first completed prior to any demolition work. Once the abatement work was completed, all four structures were systematically demolished alongside all footings and foundations. Backfilling and compaction of the area with clean fill and granular material was then completed for the site.
